Earthquake Near Yellowstone Rattles Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming

A magnitude-3.9 earthquake near Yellowstone National Park shook parts of eastern Idaho and western Wyoming on Tuesday evening, following a magnitude-3.0 quake near Stanley that morning. The U.S. Geological Survey reported that both quakes occurred several miles underground. These follow a magnitude-4.2 earthquake in Custer County on Monday. While minor earthquakes are common in the region, Idaho has recorded over 130 tremors in the past month, with at least 18 strong enough to be felt. Read More…

Companions Animal Center Welcomes Dogs from Overcrowded LA Shelters

As wildfires devastate Los Angeles, displacing thousands of pets, shelters across the country are stepping in to help. Companions Animal Center in Hayden, Idaho, recently welcomed a dozen dogs from wildfire zones, transported by Wings of Rescue. These dogs were originally housed in Los Angeles shelters before the fires, and their transfer makes room for animals directly affected by the disaster.
