Heritage Health Cuts 10% of Workforce
Amid Financial Struggles

Heritage Health has announced a significant workforce reduction, laying off 10% of its employees due to financial challenges. The nonprofit healthcare provider, which serves North Idaho, cited rising costs and declining revenue as key factors behind the decision.
The affected employees were notified this week, with leadership expressing that the move was necessary to maintain the organization's long-term stability. Despite the cuts, Heritage Health emphasized its commitment to continuing essential healthcare services for the community.

Residents Divided Over Proposed Marina Growth in Post Falls

A proposed marina expansion in Post Falls is stirring debate among residents, with opinions divided over its potential benefits and drawbacks. The project, which aims to increase boat access and dock space along the Spokane River, has drawn both support and opposition as discussions intensify.
Proponents argue that the expansion would boost local recreation and tourism, providing more opportunities for boaters and benefiting the local economy. They believe improved infrastructure could enhance the area’s appeal and bring in additional revenue for businesses.
However, opponents raise concerns about environmental impacts, increased water traffic, and potential safety issues. Many worry that the expansion could lead to overcrowding, disrupt wildlife habitats, and strain existing resources. Some residents also fear the project may alter the character of the community, leading to more congestion and noise. Learn More…
