NIC Students Test Their Skills in Road to
State SkillsUSA Competition

Students in NICโ€™s Autobody Paint Technology program competed in their annual skills competition today, testing their abilities against peers from other colleges. The results will help decide who moves on to the state SkillsUSA competition in Boise this spring. NIC has a history of producing state and national SkillsUSA champions. Meanwhile, local high school welding students also competed at NICโ€™s Parker Technical Education Center, with their performances determining who will advance to state-level contests. Idaho Senate Approves Mandatory
$300 Fine for Marijuana Possession

The Idaho Senate passed House Bill 7 on Tuesday, establishing a mandatory $300 fine for simple marijuana possession. The bill, which the House approved last month, now heads to Governor Brad Little for final consideration. If signed, the law will take effect on July 1.
