Betsy Arakawa, wife of actor Gene Hackman, has died at 62 from complications related to hantavirus, a rare disease spread by rodents. A former pianist and businesswoman, she had been married to Hackman since 1991, living a private life in New Mexico. The circumstances of her infection remain unclear, but hantavirus is known to cause severe respiratory illness.
