Two New CWD Cases Detected
in Idaho's Unit 1 Surveillance Hunt

Two additional white-tailed deer in the Bonners Ferry area tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD) during a recent surveillance hunt in Idaho's Unit 1. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game collected 172 samples, slightly under the target of 200. The close proximity of new cases to the original detection suggests early detection, potentially limiting spread. Further results and management strategies will be discussed in an upcoming community meeting.
