Secretary of State McGrane Highlights Local Election Importance in Coeur d’Alene Visit

Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane and Kootenai County Clerk Jennifer Locke spoke at the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber’s luncheon about voter education and election security for the upcoming November election. McGrane highlighted updated tools on voteidaho.gov aimed at helping voters make informed choices, particularly on local issues. Local Dog Judge Shares Love for Breeds at Spokane Competition

Cheri Hollenback, a Samoyed enthusiast and dog show judge from Coeur d'Alene, is working toward full certification in the American Kennel Club's Working Dog Group, which covers 32 breeds. With a deep passion for Samoyeds, she began her journey in 1981 and has since become a reputable breeder and judge. This weekend, she will be judging at the International All Breed Canine Association’s Spokane Valley Sieger at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center, where she encourages dog lovers to attend and learn more about the world of dog shows. Hundreds of Coeur d'Alene Students Tackle Annual Cross-Country Meet

The Coeur d'Alene School District's annual Cross-Country Meet saw 750 elementary students from 10 schools compete, marking the event's 36th year. The meet focused on building confidence, with teachers encouraging students to try their best and enjoy the experience. Though participation was emphasized over winning, many kids showed a strong competitive spirit. Three Arrested Near Kellogg for
Fake Immigration Papers

A traffic stop on Interstate 90 near Kellogg led to the detention of three men by U.S. Border Patrol. Shoshone County deputies noticed suspicious behavior from the vehicle's occupants, including four men and a juvenile girl. Upon inspection, the IDs provided appeared fake. Border Patrol confirmed the forgery, leading to the arrest of three men. Authorities noted a rise in illegal crossings in the region recently. (Read More...)
