Female Grizzly Shot in Idaho
Fish and Game Urge Tips to Catch Poacher

Idaho Fish and Game is seeking public help to find the person responsible for shooting and killing a grizzly bear near Island Park. The penalty for poaching includes a $50,000 fine and up to a year in prison. This incident follows two justified self-defense killings of grizzlies in the area this year. (Read More...)
Coeur d'Alene School District Warns of Cuts, Closures if Levy Fails

A previous attempt to pass a similar levy failed by a narrow margin before succeeding in May. Community opinions are mixed on the need for the levy, with concerns about rising taxes. (Read More...)

The commission also identifies new sites for the register and engages in public outreach to raise awareness of the importance of protecting these resources, as guided by Idaho law. (Read More...)
