Garden Club Donates $13,600
to Local Schools and Community Projects

The Coeur d'Alene Garden Club recently distributed $13,600 raised during the 2024 Garden Tour to various local schools and community projects. Recipients include Hayden Meadows Elementary, Lake City High School, and other community and school garden initiatives. The funds support greenhouse programs, purchase gardening supplies, and encourage hands-on learning experiences for students. The donations help sustain garden-based education and community gardening efforts across the region, fostering connections between students, schools, and their local environment. (Read More...)
Home Sales Surge in Kootenai County
Median Price Hits $526,750

The Kootenai County housing market saw a rise in both sales and prices through September 2024. The median price for single-family homes reached $526,750, with a 10% increase in homes sold compared to last year. The number of homes available for sale also grew by 7.3%. While recent interest rate hikes could slow momentum, market conditions remain strong. Shoshone County saw a 6% decrease in median home prices, but a slight increase in sales. (Read More...)

Honeysuckle Beach to Close Temporarily for Hayden Lake Marathon

Honeysuckle Beach and its boat launch in Hayden, Idaho, will be closed from 5 p.m. on Friday, October 11, to around 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, due to the Hayden Lake Marathon. The closure includes access restrictions, with unauthorized vehicles subject to towing. While city roads remain open, the northbound lane of Smith Road will be used for parking, with traffic direction managed by flaggers near Honeysuckle Avenue and Strahorn Road. Local Couple Brings The Little Gym to Post Falls, Opening This October

A new child enrichment center, The Little Gym, will open in Post Falls, Idaho, this October, led by local couple Christopher Goodwin and his wife. The center will offer classes aimed at enhancing coordination, listening, and intellectual skills through movement-based learning and imaginative play. Programs include parent/child classes, preschool gymnastics, and birthday parties. The grand opening is set for October 19, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 21.
