Miss Dazee's Brunch Spot and Apartments Planned for Downtown Post Falls

A new mixed-use development is planned for downtown Post Falls, featuring 33 apartments and a 3,000-square-foot brunch restaurant called Miss Dazee's. The project, led by Laura and Kelsey Horn, occupies a 50,000-square-foot site at the corner of North Spokane Street and Fourth Avenue. The Nonna building will offer urban housing across three upper floors, with parking for tenants and design elements that echo the historic downtown. Coeur d'Alene Council Approves Tennis-to-Pickleball Court Conversion at Cherry Hill Park

The Coeur d'Alene City Council has approved a plan to convert four tennis courts at Cherry Hill Park into 12 pickleball courts. This decision follows the rising popularity of pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S., with over 36 million players. The Inland Northwest Pickleball Club will cover the conversion costs and resurface the remaining tennis courts. This project is part of the city's broader effort to expand recreational opportunities at Cherry Hill Park, with construction set to begin next year. (Read More...)

Idaho Battles Invasive Quagga Mussels with Copper Treatment, Fish Loss Expected

Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG) is monitoring the effects of a quagga mussel treatment currently underway in the mid-Snake River. The Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) launched the treatment on October 8, 2024, using a copper-based formula called Natrix. This aggressive chemical eradicates invasive quagga mussels, which can severely disrupt ecosystems by competing with native species for food and resources. However, the treatment is also expected to cause significant fish mortality due to its effects on fish gills, which impair oxygen absorption. (Read More...)
