Elks Lodge Donates Dictionaries to Coeur d'Alene Third Graders

Elks Lodge 1254 recently donated 750 copies of "A Student's Dictionary" to third graders across the Coeur d'Alene School District. At Skyway Elementary, students eagerly explored their new dictionaries, which include definitions, punctuation, and educational resources on various topics like planets and the U.S. Constitution. Treasure hunter finds possible 1800s artifact on Coeur d'Alene beach
Aaron Lee Berg, host of the North Idaho-based YouTube series Rustiest Catch, discovered an old bullet while metal detecting on a Coeur d'Alene beach. After evaluation by the Museum of North Idaho, experts believe the bullet is from the late 1800s, possibly linked to firearms used by the Army at Fort Sherman during that era. The discovery sheds light on the area's historical past and its military presence from that time.

Longtime CHS Leader Steve Casey Honored for Decades of Service to Education

Coeur d'Alene High School honored longtime educator and former principal, Mr. Steve Casey, for over 40 years of dedication to education. Known for his strong connections with students and staff, Casey left a lasting legacy at CHS. The dedication was led by Booster Club President Rick Rasmussen, who shared a personal story of having Casey as a teacher at Lakes Junior High back in 1981.
