Grizzly Bear 399, the iconic 28-year-old bear of Grand Teton National Park, was tragically killed by a vehicle on October 22, 2024, in Snake River Canyon, Wyoming. Known for delighting visitors and wildlife enthusiasts for decades, Grizzly 399 was one of the most famous grizzlies in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, having raised numerous cubs, including a yearling that was with her at the time of the accident.
