A serious car accident in Cocolalla, Idaho, has left Deanna Baugh and her 14-year-old daughter Claire hospitalized with significant injuries. Claire was flown to Seattle Children's Hospital for urgent care, while Deanna is receiving treatment in Coeur d'Alene. The Baugh family, already managing the stresses of Claire’s extensive recovery, is facing a substantial financial strain. Harvest Festival Finale at Riverstone

The Kootenai County Farmers’ Market’s Harvest Festival at Riverstone is set for Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., marking the season’s final market event. Jennifer Passaro Named Coeur d'Alene's First Poet Laureate

Coeur d'Alene has appointed its first poet laureate, Jennifer Passaro, a writer committed to integrating poetry into the community, especially among vulnerable groups. Over her three-year term, Passaro aims to create original works celebrating Coeur d'Alene’s culture and landscapes, with plans to engage in community outreach, including jail, nursing home, and hospice visits.
