A serious car accident in Cocolalla, Idaho, has left Deanna Baugh and her 14-year-old daughter Claire hospitalized with significant injuries. Claire was flown to Seattle Children's Hospital for urgent care, while Deanna is receiving treatment in Coeur d'Alene. The Baugh family, already managing the stresses of Claire’s extensive recovery, is facing a substantial financial strain. Animal Center’s No-Kill Policy Saves More
Pets as Euthanasia Requests Grow

Companions Animal Center (CAC) in Hayden, Idaho, has seen a rise in requests to euthanize animals, often driven by financial constraints or rental challenges rather than health issues. The shelter, which prioritizes a no-kill policy, has declined many of these requests after assessing the animals’ actual conditions, ultimately finding them new homes. CAC’s efforts to save animals are supported by a new facility expansion expected in January to alleviate space constraints, though high demand continues due to economic pressures on pet owners. Open to families, the cruise costs $17, with free admission for children five and under. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., with the first departure at 5 p.m. each night. Vandals Beat Eagles in High-Stakes Match with Key Goal-Line Stop

The Idaho Vandals triumphed over the Eastern Washington Eagles, 38-28, thanks to a pivotal fourth-quarter defensive stand. Cornerback Jhamell Blenman’s key stop at the 1-yard line prevented an Eastern Washington touchdown, shifting momentum in Idaho’s favor.
